1. Report the violation to a law enforcement agency responsible for conducting an inspection and issuing a written order on terminating delegation of the domain name for the respective registrar. You can find help on how to file the report on the Interior Ministry’s website.

2. You can identify the registrar of the domain name using сервиса WHOIS+. Once you have identified the registrar, you can send him a copy of the law enforcement agency’s order on terminating the delegation of the domain name.

3. Under Clause 5.5 of the Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration in .RU and .РФ the registrar may terminate delegation of the domain name specified in the order without the registrant’s consent.

You can find additional information on enforcing Clause 5.5 of the Terms and Conditions on the website of the Coordination Center

How to protect yourself from cybercrime

It is necessary to know how to counter cyberthreats in order to navigate the internet freely and safely. Several protection methods are not only available for experts but also for regular users. The main thing is to use common sense and follow professional advice.
  • Install antivirus software on each device with internet access (smartphone, tablet, computer);
  • Enter your account and banking information only on sites that support encryption (the web address must start with "https://").
  • Be careful with emails from unknown addresses: be sure to check whether the URL in the email matches the "internal content" (to do this, hover your mouse over the link without clicking: the real URL will be shown in the lower left part of the screen).
  • Do not open links with executable domains (for example .exe) from unknown addresses.
